Welcome to the Southeast Chapter of the Cold War Museum
The Southeast Chapter of the Cold War Museum was founded in August 2009 for the purpose of examining and encouraging discussions on the events that shaped up our times: The Cold War.
“From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe.” These powerful words uttered by Winston Churchill at Westminster College in Fulton Missouri on March 5th 1946; brought to the forefront the new reality born out of the ashes of the Second World War. A reality that transformed our geopolitical structure in ways we are still having trouble understanding. For almost forty five years, we lived that reality. Much has been discussed on both sides of the “Curtain” pretending to the events of the last half century and still we don’t have the full picture of it all.
